Kotebe University of Education Holds a symposium on Environmental Safety and Sustainability

Kotebe University of Education (KUE) held a symposium, which was organized by the Faculty of Urban Development Studies, under the theme Environmental Safety and Sustainability on February 18, 2022. Honorable Dr. Birhanemeskel Tena, the President of Kotebe University of Education, in his opening speech, underlined the values of research in discovering and creating new knowledge in a range of disciplines. He also added that the platform enables the researchers to share the knowledge they acquired through studies with their students and colleagues. As to the words of the President, the University highly encourages this academic venture.
Dr. Yitayal Addis and Dr. Mekonnen Amberber presented the findings of their reviews under the topics: Exposure to Urban Particulate Matter and its Association with Human Health Risks and Urban Green Space-health Well-being Nexus: Implication for Green Prescription, respectively, while Dr. Yifru Waktole shared his research findings on Unprecedented Electrical Field-Induced Forward Osmosis (ElnFo) Against Concentration Gradient. The presenters also entertained questions and opinions raised by the participants.
In his closing remark, Dr. Yifru Waktole, Dean of the Faculty of Urban Development Studies, stressed the importance of undertaking similar knowledge-sharing platforms in the future and acknowledged individuals and offices who contributed to the realization of this workshop.
