Kotebe University Education signs memorandum of understanding with University of South-Eastern Norway

Kotebe University of Education and the University of South-Eastern Norway have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly work on a project named Capacity Building in Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for ONE HEALTH on a long-term basis to foster academic cooperation, mobility of students as well as staff, and research collaboration in a meeting held virtually on March 11, 2022.

In his opening speech in the project kick-off meeting conducted virtually, Dr Tesfaye Negash, Vice President for Administration and Student Service, Kotebe University of Education, underlined the importance of the project in enhancing the quality of education in higher education and thanked NORPART-Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation for funding it. He also appreciated the agreement as it happened in the advent that our university became a university of education (KUE). Moreover, Dr Tesfaye promised the participants to facilitate administrative matters pertinent to the project that come under his jurisdiction.

Thor-Egil Elide, the project administrator, on his part, noted that the project seeks to ensure the quality and internationalization of higher education in Norway and selected partner universities from developing countries through academic cooperation and mutual student mobility.

It is understood that the partnership agreement involves Jimma and Bahir Dar Universities in addition to Kotebe University of Education and stays in effect for the next five years.
