KUE HOLDS A HIGH-LEVEL REFLECTION FORUM ON ITS ROADMAP WITH UK-BASED EDT EXPERTS

The technical team of KUE’s transitional roadmap conducted a high-level consultation forum that aimed to gain global perspectives on the institution’s transitional roadmap document with the Educational Development Trust (EDT), an international organization which supports Ethiopia’s vision for educational system transformation, in a meeting held virtually on June 16, 2022.
The EDT experts team which comprises Dr. Clare Buntic (Education Consultant & Policy Advisor), Marion Smallbones (Lead Advisor: Insight & Innovation) and Rosalind Hancell (Lead Advisor: School Leadership) considered KUE’s transitional roadmap as a well-organized and powerful document as it sets to raise the standard of education not only in Ethiopia but also in Africa. The EDT team members suggested the necessity of placing a system transformation ecosystem which provides a clear, competency-based career pathway for the education workforce. They also encouraged the team to adopt a Delivery Approach to the already innovative roadmap to leapfrog the world’s best systems.
Moreover, the EDT team proposed to be a strategic partner with KUE and offer support through developing co-funding proposals and providing technical support (as in developing a strategic delivery plan) to assist KUE to effectively realising its vision, i.e. strengthening and advancing Ethiopia’s education system.
Dr Fekede Tuli, the chairman of the roadmap crafting technical team, thanked members of the EDT team for their organized reflection on the roadmap document. Dr Fekede also emphasized the importance of the discussion with the Education Development Trust experts in gaining global perspectives and experiences which in turn contribute to the internationalization of KUE’s roadmap document. Our relationship with EDT will continue and finalize the document together in the time ahead, said Dr. Fekede.
