Kotebe University of Education (KUE) graduated a total of 2891 students, of which are 750 postgraduates, 1380 undergraduates, and 761 diploma students in a colorful ceremony held on July 17, 2022. Of the total number of graduates, 1482 are females whilst 1409 are males.
During the graduation ceremony, Dr Berhanemeskel Tena, the President of KUE congratulated the 2022 graduates for their success amid multifaceted problems that the country has faced both within and outside. The exceed in the number of female graduates implies the university’s commitment and hard work in creating a conducive learning environment for female students said Dr Berhanemeskel. Besides, the President also remarked that all the graduates would shoulder heavy responsibility for bringing about changes in Ethiopia and hence he encouraged them to serve the society impartially, honestly, and professionally.
Professor Berhanu Nega, Minister of Ministry of Ethiopia of FRDE and the honourable guest of the day, commended the graduates for reaching the momentous by overcoming the Covid 19 pandemic and the socio-economic turmoil that prevailed both in and outside Ethiopia. Professor Berhanu also reminded the graduates of the fact that their current graduation was only the closing of the first chapter of their life; the longest and by far the roughest chapters are waiting ahead. The graduates’ success would come fruitful when they execute what they have learned into practice, especially in a way that benefits themselves and their country, said the Minister.
It was also known that in the ceremony certificates of recognition were awarded to members of the university who contributed to the designing of the new logo as well as in the composition of the lyrics of the university’s anthem.
