The Second Round KUE-CUE ICT and Science Teachers in-Service Joint Training Concluded Successfully

The Second Round KUE-CUE ICT and Science Teachers in-Service Joint Training that was spanned from August 26-30, 2024, for five consecutive day was successfully concluded on Friday August 30, 2024. The training aims at strengthening the capacity of Science and ICT education teachers through targeted in-service training programs.

On the opening event, Dr. Dejen Chaka welcomed the Korean delegation, KUE Instructors and the teacher trainees on behalf of Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena, the President of Kotebe University of Education.  Dr, Dejen remarked on this event that To date, this initiative has successfully reached 18 secondary and 41 elementary schools in total 59 schools within Addis Ababa City Administration. As a result, 148 Science and ICT teachers have benefited from this program which enhances their skills and knowledge to better serve their students, and of course your nation.

Professor Kim Hyun Joo, the General Manager of the 2023 Civil Society Partnership Program/KOICA Project, welcomed instructors and trainee teachers to the second round of teacher training held at KUE from August 26-30, 2024. She expressed gratitude to Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena, President of Kotebe University of Education, for his collaboration and to Dr. Dejen Chaka, the Coordinator, and the project team for their dedication. Professor Kim noted the historical support of Ethiopian soldiers during the Korean War and emphasized the importance of mutual aid, stating that Korea now aims to support Ethiopia. Additionally, she expressed optimism about achieving shared goals and producing successful students through the hard work of the trained teachers.

It was evidenced that the training initiated through the 2023 Civil Society Partnership Program (2023 CSPP/KOICA) supported by KOICA financially.
