PHD and MA Curricula Validated at the Level of MoSHE and KMU-Senate Standing Committee

Kotebe Metropolitan University received letter of PhD curricula approval from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education on PhD in Applied Statistics and PhD in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The President of the University, Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena, earlier on the forum of the University’s management announced that the Curricula Validation stands within a wider context of international benchmarking. He also congratulated the University’s community for the very commencement of PhD programs- that the next move should a leap forward. Both PhD curricula were reviewed on international validation workshop by subject matter genius.
The Academic Standard Curriculum Committee also validated MA curricula after consecutive review in respective departments and faculties. Chair of the Committee and Academic Affairs V/ President, Dr. Demewoz Admasu said that the deliberation of the committee is based on the enactment of the University’s legislation and guidelines. He also reckoned that the validation has a great result in uplifting quality programs that the University is planning to commence in this academic year.
Following the presentations of the curricula on different MA programs, members of the committee forwarded their comments that help to enrich the document from national and global experiences.
Lastly, the Senate Standing Committee congratulated Faculties that enroll on the following validated MA programs:
Faculty of Social Sciences
-MA in Urban Governance and Development Studies
-MA in Disaster Risk Management
-MA in Civics and Ethics Studies
-MA in Social Work
-MA in History
Faculty of Languages and Literature
– MA in Literature in English
-MA in Applied Linguistics and Communication
