Kotebe University of Education Holds a Panel Discussion on the Issue of Exchange Rate Management in Ethiopia

The Faculty of Business and Economics of Kotebe University of Education held a discussion on the issue of exchange rate and its management in Ethiopia on January 27, 2022. In his opening speech, Honourable Dr. Birhanemeskel Tena, the President, remarked that the issue addressed by the Faculty is timely.
As to the remarks of the President, the foreign exchange rate is a problem that currently affects the livelihood of households of the nation in a number of ways.
Mr. Endale Teklu, the lecturer, and researcher in the Department of Economics presented the findings of his study that focused on the rationales for rising in the foreign exchange rate and the various factors that influence it looking at the issue from global and national perspectives. Taking advantage of the forum, the audience also raised ideas and opinions that further consolidated the issue under discussion.
In his closing remark, Dr. Hailemichael Mule, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, underscored the significance of organizing similar platforms for further academic dialogues and policy briefs.
