About the President
Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena (PhD)
Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena (PhD) is the President of Kotebe University of Education, Addis Ababa Ethiopia and Assistant Professor of Education Management.
He obtained his PhD in Education Management in Andhra University, M.Ed. in EdPM; PGD in international Relation and Diplomacy and , B.Ed in Pedagogical Science.
He has served in Education sector (as a leader) for the last 26 years. He served a lot taking different responsibility from the Government of Ethiopia since he graduated with bachelor degree.
Some of the responsibilities he assumed include:
- Director for senior secondary school;
- Principal for the Teacher Training Institute;
- Dean for TTC ;
- Advisor to the Minister, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministry of Education;
- Head, Higher Education Capacity Building Desk , Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministry of Education;
- Deputy Director General of Ethiopia Management Institute and President of Kotebe University College ( KUC);
- Founding President of Kotebe Metropolitan University ( KMU);
- Currently he is the Founding President of Kotebe University of Education .
Some of the additional responsibilities he has assumed include:
- Member of the House of People Representative (Parliament ) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia;
- Vice President of Ethiopian Universities Consortium;
- Board Member of Oromia Development Association (ODA);
- Member of the World Peace Advisory council
