Description of Science & Mathematics Education College
The College of Science and mathematics Education (CSME) focuses on the specific nature of challenges related to science teaching, learning and research. CSME is positioned under the college of science and mathematics education at the Kotebe University of Education, and is the largest college in the university. The research field of CSME is science and mathematics education, university science education, digital education and history and philosophy of science. The department takes care of teaching these subjects at the study programs at SCIENCE.
We train future primary, secondary and university level science teachers and facilitators in subject-area didactics, science communication and science studies. CSME collaborates with numerous entities spanning the educational sector, including the Ethiopian Ministry of Education and Reginal education offices, to develop innovative and user-friendly science instruction and teacher education at all levels. CSME also works with science museums and science centers to develop innovative informal learning environments.
