Department of History Education

The department of History is among the six degree programs launched in 1989 in an attempt of diversifying its programs by the then Kotebe College of Teacher Education. However, in 1997, the degree programs were discontinued except Health and Physical Education. The degree program in History and other fields was re-launched in 2007 when the College was affiliated with Bahir Dar University. In 2014 the department of history launched MA in History with the Ministry of Education Curriculum in Summer Program. The Department of History had been producing qualified history teachers and researchers at diploma and degree levels for the last 40 years.
