Overview

The Department of Social Work, now named the Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Anthropology, was opened in 2010 E.C. by accepting its first batch undergraduate students. Four undergraduate batches have graduated from the department so far with Bachelor Degree in Social Work (BSW). In 2014, the postgraduate program started for weekend modality, and the first batch graduated in 2016 E.C. with a Master Degree of Social Work (MSW). However, when the university changed its mission from urban-oriented to Education University, it brought curriculum change in the department as well. So, the new curriculum of the department has been made and is waiting for institutional as well as national validation to accept students in Bachelor of Education in Social Work (BEd) and Master of Education in Social Work (MEd).

 

Major activities of the department include:

  • Offering common course to freshman students of different departments,
  • Providing trainings to students and individuals from other institutions,

Engaging in different research projects.
