Department of Urban Environmental Management

Department of Urban Environmental Management

Overview

The department launched new Environmental Education programs: B.Ed. and M.Ed. These programs aim to produce educators, curriculum developers, and scholar-practitioners who can integrate environmental and sustainability principles across all levels of the education system. The newly launched program fosters a new generation of professionals capable of mitigating urban environmental risks while promoting environmental awareness and stewardship throughout society. Further, the department offers an interdisciplinary program by a team of experienced faculty members and professors of the departments, who bring deep academic knowledge and real-world expertise in environmental systems. The programs equip undergraduates with strong foundations in environmental education and policy enabling them to design and implement cost-effective solutions in areas such as solid-waste minimization, greening and landscaping, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and environmental and social management planning (ESMP), water and wastewater treatment, and resilient land-use planning based on remote sensing and GIS.
