Educational Research and Reform Institute

The Institute of Educational Research and Reform at Kotebe University of Education is a hub for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of education. It is dedicated to studying various aspects of educational practices, policies, and reforms to improve the quality of education in Ethiopia. The Institute engages in collaborative research projects, provides evidence-based recommendations for educational policies, and offers professional development programs for educators. Through its work, the Institute of Educational Research and Reform at Kotebe University aims to contribute to the advancement of the education sector and the overall development of the country. Specifically, the institute

• develops, coordinate and support strategic research having strong policy implications for educational development;
• undertakes policy-relevant research to inform, support and influence the reform of education in Ethiopia;
• establishes a data bank to store important data from relevant international and local projects;
• establishes collaborative partnerships for policy dialogue and research between KUE, Government agencies and education institutions, private sector and other major stakeholders in education reform
• produces high quality, accessible, user-friendly policy research products to fill knowledge gaps and provide evidence for sound policy making on education reform
• facilitates research collaborations with local, national and international universities on educational research activities
• prepares policy briefs and summaries for all research projects undertaken
