2. Short introduction to the office, mission and values

2.1 Introduction

Resource Development & Revenue Generation Executive Office is one of the office established under administration and business development vice President office at Kotebe University of Education. This office mainly provides income generation and revenue collection services and has the goal of enhancing University ability to sustain itself beyond the funding from government and research. The office provides strategic guidance to the University units that generate income through training and consultancy services. 

This office is mainly focusing on the project development, implementation and monitoring of the projects for income generation and resource mobilization. With this regards, training and consultancy are main sources of the income for the office.

The office employs various strategies in mobilizing the resource required to supplement the running of its programs and activities.

• Functions of the office

1. Planning, establishment and development of all income generating activities in the University.
2. Management of University commercial facilities and all income generation activities.
3. Preparation of concept plans and business plans for all income generation activities in the University for Approval by University Management.
4. Provision of strategic direction on improvement of performance of University income generating activities.
5. Formulation of operating and financial policies and guidelines for all income generating units in the University and presentation of the said guidelines for approval by University Management.
6. Review of recommendations from units/departments regarding the optimum utilization of production units based in departments for training, research and production activities.
7. Preparation of quarterly reports from all income generation activities and production units, and based upon these reports make recommendations regarding the operations of units.
8. To deal with any other matters referred to it by the vice president, University Management or any other University Committee.
9. To mobilize resources to build the University revenue base.
10. Commercializing innovations
11. Performing any other function assigned by the Vice president of administration and business development

2.3 Vision of the office        

The office aspires to cover 10% of the university’s annual budget by 2035, through securing diverse funding sources, fostering strategic partnerships, and implementing cutting-edge initiatives to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and growth of the university, supporting its mission of academic excellence.

2.4 Mission of the office        

 The mission of Office is mission is to enhance the university’s financial sustainability, diversify revenue streams, and optimize resource allocation to ensure the continued growth and excellence of our academic programs and initiatives to make KUE a self-budgeted University.
