Overview
The performing and visual arts department (PVA) seeks to develop outstanding instructors with the technical know-how, pedagogical abilities, and attitudes necessary to successfully teach contemporary skills to a diverse student using culturally responsive instruction. Additionally, the program equips students to teach middle-level pupils the practical professional abilities that are demanded today. Students will gain knowledge of the most recent teaching strategies, tactics, and tools utilized in current classrooms. They will also investigate innovative approaches to combining high-quality coursework with real-world, experiential learning. Because of the wide range of skills and knowledge they gain during their studies, graduates from the Department of Performance and Visual Arts Education (PVA) will have a variety of professional roles.
The program emphasizes experiential learning and the development of practical abilities in a variety of artistic disciplines, including theater, music, dance, film, and art. As a result, it equips students to contribute successfully to various domains. The development of skills, the integration of academic and technical skills, and work-based learning are some of the essential elements of performing and visual arts education.
