Description of the Office

Primary focus of Women and  Social Affairs Inclusive Implementation Office lies in providing essential resources and support to students, particularly female students, to empower them to excel in their educational pursuits. By creating a conducive environment and offering materials tailored to their needs, we aim to facilitate a nurturing space where girls can thrive academically. Through our dedication to promoting girls’ education and providing awareness programs and training sessions, we strive to empower women members within the university community.

As we come together on this platform, let us celebrate the achievements and progress made in advancing women’s education and empowerment. By organizing events, tutorial classes, and educational training opportunities, we are committed to fostering a culture of learning and growth among women members. Together, let us continue to support and uplift one another, creating a more inclusive and supportive university environment for all.

Our office’s vision is to reduce gender discrimination in Kotebe University of Education and the city community by identifying and empowering women’s potential and students who need support.

Our office is located in a new administration building on the ground floor. It comprises one executive officer, two gender experts and one secretary. 

Our office is currently working with the Women and Social Affairs inclusive Implementation Minister to strengthen the office in accordance with different activities related to the Ministry. By improving service delivery and promoting good management, empowering female employees to be effective, and to overcome the challenges that female employees working in the university may face by separating them from their babies during childbirth and to enable them to be successful in their work, it is a major goal of the university to establish a childcare center for the implementation of women’s and social issues can be taken. Currently, 4 trained child care professionals and 3 cleaning workers have been involved, enabling female university employees to keep their children at the nursery and carry out their work without risk. Therefore, currently 34 (thirty four) children are served in the nursery.

 In terms of enabling students to be successful in their studies, it provides financial and material support by identifying and registering students with economic challenges. From improving the quality of education; women and inclusive implementation  works hard for students to focus on their studies and not to find bad places and be exposed to various harms. In addition to the program planned to increase their knowledge of HIV prevention, he is making use of the opportunity to give presentations and discussions.

Women and social issues inclusive implementation office is;

  • Establishing a day care facility for female staff to promote good management and empower female employees to be effective while working at the university,
  • Finding financial support for students who need special support and signing an agreement when available; expanding and strengthening the participation of partners and stakeholders, 
  • Making the learning environment of the disabled people easier and more comfortable 
  • Strengthening HIV prevention and controlling mechanisms
  • Facilitating tutorial class for Girls students collaboratively with deans ,directors
