Description of the Office

Overview

Based on the new structure of the University Under Graduate Program Office is established under Academic programs Directorate. The office has been mandated for Development and revision of  curriculums, Monitor and support the overall teaching learning process, Responsibility for any other related activities in the under Graduate Programs affairs.

Vision

In line with the vision of Kotebe University of Education, the Office has developed its own vision.

Under Graduate Programs Office aspires to be one of the leading to have academic programs that attract capable students nationally and internationally in the sector of education.

Mission

The mission of the office is to develop demand driven and nationally as well as internationally recognized academic programs, and admit competent, inspired, and motivated prospective students. 

Major duties and responsibilities for the office of Under Graduate Program

  • Plan, initiate, assist and coordinate program development considering national needs and interests;
  • Ensure that curriculum delivery is research and study-based and up-to-date and that the teaching-learning process is continuously updated in its design, delivery methods, and instruments of assessment;
  • Collect, process, deploy and disseminate information and data on undergraduate academic programs;
  • Assemble data on intake capacity and reconcile needs with capacities;
  • Promote and ensure student-centeredness in the teaching-learning process as well as in academic administration;
  • Develop guidelines, programs and mechanisms for student success and reduction of attrition;
  • Ensure and coordinate standards, specifications and governing regulations for undergraduate academic programs to be properly implemented;
  • Organize and oversee the provision of internship placement;
  • Develop mechanisms to ensure that academic staff are properly and continuously informed of rules and regulations governing undergraduate programs in general and graduation requirements in particular;
  • Coordinate, monitor and support academic programs and administrative arrangements for honors programs; support and facilitate communal activities of honors students;
  • Oversee classes are conducted consistently as per the schedules.
