Description of the Office
The Research and Community Engagement Vice President Office (RCEPO) at Kotebe University of Education plays a crucial role in the university’s framework. This office is tasked with organizing and supervising research, community service, as well as university-industry partnerships and technology transfer initiatives, all in line with the university’s mission. Specifically, the office:
- advises the President with regard to the research, community service, and Technology transfer issues of the University;
- implements decisions and directives of the Board (through the President), the president and the Senate in directing and supervising the activities of organs of the University accountable to her/him;
- plan, direct and supervise the research, community service, and Technology transfer activities of faculties, Colleges, Institutes, Academy, Schools, Centers and different units of the University;
- solicits national and international links and partnerships, and follow their implementation in her/his division;
- administers allocation and utilization of budget in her/his division
- reports to the President on the performance, budget allocation and utilization and other activities of different units in her/his division;
- carries out other activities which may be specifically entrusted to him by the Board (through the President), the Senate and the President.
- administers Research and Development Fund
The Office of Vice President for Research and Community Engagement is accountable to the President with responsibilities for leading, coordinating and facilitating the University’s Research, Technology Transfer, and Community service-related works. Currently, the RCEVP office has three directorates, one institute and one center as listed below.
