A high-level delegation from China’s Henan Province visited Kotebe University of Education (KUE), where they were warmly welcomed by the university’s senior leadership.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Teshome Nekatibeb, President of KUE, expressed appreciation for the visit and emphasized the university’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the University of Science and Technology in Henan Province mainly with Zhengzhou Normal University. He highlighted opportunities for experience sharing, student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and the establishment of the International Laboratory of Psychological and Disability centre at Kotebe University of Education.
The head of the delegation, a Member of the Party Leadership Group and Director General of the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Chen Zhiqiang conveyed gratitude for the hospitality KUE rendered them. He noted that China has expanded cooperation with African countries and emphasized that their university, as a science and technology institution, and Psychological and Inclusion Studies, had already initiated joint initiatives with KUE. He underscored their collaboration in International Laboratory facilities and infrastructure support and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing ties in the spirit of partnership and brotherhood.
Dr. Melkamu Afeta, Director of the Industrial Linkage and Technology Transfer Directorate at KUE and member of research project, gave a presentation on collaboration and why for, KUE International Collaboration and Partnership experiences, the Project Progress and Future Cooperation areas between KUE and Henan Province of Science and Technology. He explained the cooperation agreement process, stressing the importance of knowledge and technology transfer and KUE’s strong interest in building long-term collaboration.
It is recalled that the two institutions had already cooperated in areas such as laboratory establishment, visit to International Laboratory for knowledge and innovative technology transfer, join research projects, arranging joint workshops, symposiums and conferences, collaborative consultancy and capacity building initiatives, and particularly Artificial Intelligence development and mental health. Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in these key areas.
The Henan delegation also visited KUE’s computer laboratories, where they observed facilities including desktop computers and laptops that were donated by Zhengzhou Normal University. Their visit marked a continuation of discussions initiated nearly two years ago on the cooperation agreement between the two universities.
