(KUE, January 27, 2026) — The Technical Assistance for Teacher Education for Quality and Inclusion in Ethiopia (TEFIQ), in collaboration with Kotebe University of Education (KUE), has launched a two-day training program for academic staff representatives from all colleges within the university. The training focuses on Inclusive Education and Inclusive Pedagogy, aiming to institutionalize inclusive teaching practices across the institution.
Welcoming the participants, Marija Matero, Chief Technical Advisor of TEFIQ, outlined the program’s core objectives. She emphasized that achieving high-quality education is impossible without equipping educators with the essential skills, knowledge, and inclusive pedagogical strategies required to support diverse learners.
In his official opening remarks, Dr. Alebachew Kemiso, Vice President for Academic Affairs at KUE, expressed his appreciation to the organizers and highlighted the significance of the training. He noted that the program arrives at a pivotal moment as the university undergoes comprehensive educational reforms. Dr. Alebachew stressed that inclusivity must be embraced as a fundamental culture within the education system, urging participants to engage attentively to maximize the benefit for their respective colleges.
This initiative is a result of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously signed between KUE and TEFIQ. Funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA), the partnership continues to focus on strengthening the quality and inclusivity of teacher education through sustained collaborative efforts.
