KUE Signs MoU with African Center for Early Childhood Development

(Addis Ababa, March 3, 2026) — Kotebe University of Education (KUE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Center for Early Childhood Development (AfC-ECD) to strengthen collaboration and partnership in Early Childhood Education and Development.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Tewodros Mulugeta, Vice President for Research and Community Engagement, on behalf of Kotebe University of Education, and Dr. Kebede Worku, CEO of the African Center for Early Childhood Development, representing AfC-ECD.
According to the agreement, the partnership will focus on professional development and capacity building, policy advocacy and knowledge sharing, and bridging theory and practice in early childhood education.
Dr. Tewodros Mulugeta highlighted the importance of how children are nurtured and educated from an early age, particularly in today’s rapidly changing world. He commended the center for its commitment to advancing early childhood development and expressed his satisfaction in formalizing the collaboration. He affirmed that both institutions will work diligently to implement the terms of the MoU and extended his appreciation to all parties who facilitated the partnership.
Dr. Kebede Worku stated that the Center—which is based in Addis Ababa and works to improve early childhood education across Ethiopia and other African nations—is pleased to partner with Kotebe University of Education. He emphasized that the agreement will enhance efforts to support children’s education at both regional and continental levels.
The signing ceremony was facilitated by Dr. Melkamu Afeta, Director of the University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer Directorate Office, and was attended by senior officials and representatives from both institutions.
