KUE, November 6, 2025 — Kotebe University of Education (KUE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Philippine Normal University (PNU) to enhance collaboration in teacher education, research, and academic exchange.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Teshome Nekatibeb, President of KUE, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and introduced members of the KUE team. Dr. Teshome noted that the signing of the MoU marks an important milestone in KUE’s journey toward becoming a model and leading university in education. He highlighted areas of collaboration, including teacher education, joint research, as well as faculty and student exchange programs.
Dr. Teshome also emphasized that the collaboration will further strengthen the relationship between Ethiopia and the Philippines.
On his part, Dr. Bert Jazmin Tuga, President of Philippine Normal University, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He stated that this visit marks PNU’s first-ever official visit to Africa, describing the event as a significant occasion for both institutions. Dr. Tuga emphasized that, as PNU works toward reforming its education system, partnering with an institution like KUE is both timely and valuable.
