The World Robot Olympiad (WRO), one of the world’s leading global robotics competitions, has been inspiring young innovators for over 21 years.
The WRO Africa expansion initiative supported by UNECA and Google, through Camden Education and National Organizers as implementing partners, introduced WRO across 14 African nations. This year’s international final, held from November 26-28, 2025 in Singapore, marked the competition’s largest turnout ever, bringing together more than 3,300 students, hundreds of teams, and participants from over 100 countries.
Among these bright young minds were three talented students from the Kotebe University of Education STEM Center Dinaol Enku, Dagim Belachew, and Kirubel Samuel who proudly represented Ethiopia on the world stage. Their journey to Singapore followed their victory at the WRO National Competition in Ethiopia, a win that also marks the STEM Center’s second consecutive national championship empowered by partners and STEMPower Ethiopia.
Competing alongside teams from every corner of the globe, the students demonstrated innovation, resilience, and strong technical skill, showcasing the growing potential of Ethiopian youth in the field of robotics. Their presence at the international final stands as a significant achievement for both the university and the country.
